Residential Pest Control in London

Our residential pest control team will take care of any pest issues to ensure your home is pest-free. We liaise with landlords, estate agents, owners and tenants alike to provide the best pest control service in London.

Our experts provide a service that respects your home and causes as little disruption as possible while also swiftly removing pests, allowing you to feel comfortable at home again. Our paramount concerns is to also keep children and pets safe. Below are some examples of the pests that we take care of and the exact services we provide for residential properties.

Mice control in London

By far the most common residential pest control problem in London, mice affect almost everyone at some point in their life. The reason being that our homes provide the perfect living conditions for them – safe, dry, and plenty of food. Spaces under floorboards and behind walls provide the perfect place for nests and birthing young, whilst our kitchen cupboards are a treasure trove of food.

Our process for controlling mice involves using baits and traps to rid them from your property. We’ve found that canary seed and peanut butter bait offers the best results; we’ve seen that mice almost always choose this over other food sources – which is the key to any successful bait.

We’re so confident in our service that it comes with a one-year guarantee. Read about our Mice control service here.

Rat control and drains

We’ve all heard the statistics that you’re supposedly never more than 3 metres away from a rat in London. Well, in our experience, it seems to be true. They’re an incredibly large problem facing the capital’s homes.

Like mice, rats find our homes very comfortable. They have access to warmth, safety, and food. Unlike mice, however, rats often enter our homes via drains and pipework. Since rats are sewer-dwelling creatures, this is the first place we’ll look when surveying your property. Our rat control service may therefore go beyond laying traps and blocking common access points, it may involve carrying out drain work too. This can involve using small CCTV cameras to monitor the area for a few days, and perhaps fitting one-way valves to prevent rats moving up and down pipes.

If you suspect that you have a rat problem, it’s important to call a pest control expert immediately. The sooner you call, the less damage the rats are able to do. Read about our Rat control service here.

Rodent proofing service

Removing pests from your home is just part of our pest control service; keeping them out is just as important (and even more difficult!). When it comes to rodents, if you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. The smallest of gaps is all that’s needed for some unwelcome furry guests to enter your property, whether it be cracks in the walls, gaps around pipework, or slightly mislaid floorboards.

Additionally, given the amount of terraced housing and tower blocks in London, it’s very easy for rodents to move from one property to another. Everyone is vulnerable, and if your neighbour has a pest problem, you can be sure that you do too (or will before long). This is why a proofing service is so necessary – it’s the only way to fully protect yourself from a pest infestation.

Our proofing service involves identifying and blocking 100% of the access points of your property, so that you can rest assured that no unwelcome visitors will be returning. Our proofing service is so effective that it comes with a one-year money-back guarantee. Get in touch with us for more information.

Clothes Moths and Carpet Beetles

Moths and carpet beetles can wreak havoc on your clothes and carpets. The difficulty with these kinds of pests is that you likely won’t be able to see or hear them, you’ll only know of their existence in your home from the evidence of their activities. Namely, chewing holes in your clothing, blankets, and carpets. It can be weeks or even months before you notice the damage, by which point you already have a full-fledged infestation on your hands.

They are a common pest control problem in London, and eradicating these pests often requires treating your entire property, including clothing and blankets. This can be done using chemicals or our heat treatment service. Both methods are very effective and can be used together or in isolation. Our pest control experts will assess your particular situation and advice the best course of action.

Bed bug treatment

Bed bugs are one of the most annoying pests because, unlike most, they actually bite people. Bed bugs feed on human blood, so it’s important to call a pest controller as soon as you suspect you may have bed bugs. Aside from the physical pain and itchiness their bites can cause, having bed bugs is also bad for a person’s mental state. Your bed is no longer a sanctuary or place of comfort.

This is why we recommend our heat treatment and pesticide-based approach. This method ensures that no bed bugs survive.

Depending on the scale of the infestation, we may treat just your bed, bedroom, or maybe your entire house. Our pest control experts will survey the issue and recommend the most appropriate treatment for you. We always aim to provide the best treatment whilst limiting the inconvenience for our customers.

Heat treatment and heat tents

Heat treatment is the most effective pest control method for many pests. In recent years there has been a shift away from using chemical pesticides over concerns about contamination, the safety of residents, and pests developing a resistance the chemicals. Pesticides are still effective, however we tend to prefer using heat treatment instead as it’s a fool-proof method of pest control.

We use a combination of propane or electric heaters and professional pest control steamers, along with fumigation in order to raise the temperature of an infested room to above 56ºC. At this temperature, no pest can survive.

For more targeted pest control, such as when treating clothing or blankets, we’ll use heat tents. These are small chambers in which we’ll place any infested clothing. We then raise the temperature inside the heat tents to be over 56ºC, performing the same task as the full-scale heat treatment, just in a more targeted fashion.

A large benefit of heat treatment, besides being very effective, is that it only takes one day to perform, and there’s no need to leave your home during the process. Once it’s complete, you can continue using your rooms as normal – there’s no “cooling off period” and no need to vacate the premises for days following the treatment.
